Lessons are divided into three areas: scales and arpeggios, technical studies, and repertoire. The first two provide the technical foundation needed to translate notes on a page into an understanding of the composer’s intent that the player can then share with the listener.
Each lesson, including demonstrations by the teacher, is recorded on video so the student (and, for minor age students, the parent or guardian acting as coach) can refer to the videos while practicing.
The length of each lesson is tailored to the level of the student. Beginners start with a half hour lesson. As the student progresses, lessons move to 45 minutes, and then an hour.
